Tax assessment appeal board

(January 11, 2012, posted in Tools and Tips)

Well it's that time of year again (property taxes, not income tax -- that's coming soon enough:)), and your property assessment should be in your mailbox.  Did yours increase?  Decrease? (that happens??)  Stay the same?
Would love to hear from you and any questions that you might have about your assessment and how that affects the actual market value of your home.
You can also see what your neighbour's is assessed at by going to:
http://www.bcassessment.bc.ca/Pages/default.aspx
If you feel that your home has been under or over-assessed, you can appeal it.  The deadline for filing the complaint is January 31.   The instructions are on your Tax Assessment.
I have personally been through the process, and am able to help you through it by providing sales information and hints on how to deal with the Appeal Board and what to expect through the entire process.
Please call or email me if you would like to know more.
